NATURAL

A Natural is a symbol ( ) that tells a musician to not flat or sharp a note in a musical piece as the key signature would indicate.

For example, let us assume that we are musicians are we are playing something in the key of Eb.  Now the key of Eb has 3 flats in it.  When we see a note on the staff that looks like a "B" we would normally play Bb - since the flat is assumed in an Eb key and furthermore a flat is showing on that line as well as two other lines.  However, if we see a natural sign by the B, then we would know that we should not flat the B and we should therefore just play it as B and not Bb.
