| AUTOMATIC CARD SHUFFLER In the game of Blackjack, the term automatic card shuffler means a machine that will shuffle the cards instead of the dealer. There are two kinds of automatic card shufflers. The first kind is not harmful at all and only shuffles when all of the multiple decks of cards have been dealt - at least down to the normal allowed number that the casino allows. Then this type of card shuffler will shuffle that group of decks while it delivers another 6 or 8 deck set already shuffled to the dealer. This type of shuffler just saves times, really, and does not hurt the overall odds of the multiple-deck blackjack game in progress. However, there is another kind of automatic card shuffler that is becoming popular, that takes in all of the cards after each hand is dealt and therefore shuffles them continuously. We call this kind a continuous card shuffler. Now, the good news to most blackjack players is that if they are not card counting, then this machine really does not change the blackjack games odds much at all. It just tends to make the blackjack game about the same as an 8 or 10 deck blackjack game. If that sounds bad, the odds on those games is not much different than a 6 deck blackjack game. However, there is a second impact to this continuous card shuffler. Since it shuffles the cards continuously, it is meant to stop card counters - and therefore stops players from keeping track of cards dealt and gaining an advantage over the house.
