WATCH THEIR FEET
Mostly a direct quote from the book:
"By Their Feet Shall You Know
Them" – Ron Plachno (author)
I do not recall why I did this,
but long ago I decided that many people lie or at least exaggerate.
And so I went deep into watching body language - especially the feet
of others. One of my favorite stories was when my family had a store
and a lady walked in one day in order to sell radio advertising. She
said that radio was the very best way to advertise. I now ask you,
“What is wrong with that picture?” Her words said radio was best.
Her feet by walking in the door said that personal contact was best.
I believed her feet and said no.
Some possibilities may be
even more obvious. For example, you should also be concerned if the
person selling you a type of cellular phone, when closing the deal,
calls the sale into headquarters using a different brand and type of
phone. Or, if a person sells you a car telling you that it is the
greatest, and yet drives home afterwards in a very different car. Or
a person might complain about how horrible it is for companies to do
outsourcing, yet when it comes to their own money, they buy a
foreign car since “they want the best deal."
Perhaps those
examples are obvious. But there is more to watching body language
than just that. There are also facial expressions and body movements
that can give someone away.

course is in the eBook below.

Book: Strategies I Learned Becoming A VP
During my career, back when Motorola was a huge
thriving company with I heard some 150,000 world wide
employees, I went there from perhaps being the lowest paid
engineer on staff to becoming a Vice President. And that was
not an honorary title only, but a Vice President in charge
of Manufacturing or Engineering of both for a large division
with perhaps yearly a billion US dollars in sales. How did I
do that? Well, I realized I was not born with this
knowledge. I learned it from many people along the way, and
tried to decide what information I was being told made sense
and what information did not make sense. And I learned from
some people.. who I thought were great in business. And so
what is the point of this book? My goal is simply to pass on
business information to others as best as I could, in order
to help others who may come after me. Yes, times change, and
some may have to modify the strategies here as the world
continues to change. But logic does not change. And you
might just find this book a good help at a reasonable price. |
