ALL SCIENTISTS AGREE When you hear certain phrases that you should watch for, be careful, you might simply be being lied to. There are certain phrases that are meant to stop conversation. stop discussion, and stop rational thought and persuade people by a brute force method of overpowering them. Some such phrases include:
While the person saying one of more of the above things may sound scientific, they are being the opposite. Science changes all of the time as each year, each day, each minute, humans learn more. And sometimes when they learn, they find very much that what they had believed before is no longer true. And so today, this hour, we believe in a new truth. Therefore no discussion should ever be closed and if it is, it is the opposite of Science. And for the same reason "Proven Science" is an oxymoron since next week we may learn much more and find out that what we though we knew, was in fact, all wrong. As for what people or scientists think, well, at one point "most scientists and or people" KNEW that bloodletting was a good idea, that the earth was flat, that asbestos saved lives, that slavery was just fine, and that physicians need not wash their hands before surgery. And some just KNEW that witches exist and should be burned at the stake and that people who think differently must die, and that crops will improve if we throw virgins into volcanoes. And so, the real reason why some people use these phrases is to stop conversation while intimidating you. They do not want you to think or question them. And most likely that is because they know so little about the subject, they might not be able to answer any questions anyway. They want you to be just simply obedient and believe whatever they say. I would agree that for peace, a person may just decide to nod their head and walk away when confronted by nonsense like this. It might not be worth fighting a verbal war ... that day. But believing the person who uses this form of intimidation, that is something else, that I myself would not suggest. In your mind you should be asking yourself, "Why do they have so little respect for me not to give a valid logic reason for what they say, instead of trying to be a bully and intimidate me?"
